The clappers are already bent and ready for assembly. At the end of the mounting the clapper must be closed at the top by a pair of pliers.

Some history

In the past, wood was used, among other things, for the bobbins, which were not necessarily durable. With the art of blacksmithing, forged clappers found their way into the bells.
