Why cowbells?

Weidenreicheln, cowbells or steel bells, are used for many years in the agriculture of cattle for the protection of the herd. If something is wrong with the animals or if a predator approaches the herd, the farmer or shepherd hears this from the sound of the bells and can react accordingly quickly. Also, the responsible person finds the animals reliably even in the thickest fog, when all technical aids already fail.
A peal usually consists of different tuned bells with different sounds. Thus, every peal is unique.

Did you know?

Bells mean protection and keep evil spirits away from the house, yard and loved ones. In addition, anyone who hears the sound of a bell has luck.
Cannons were cast for military purposes, while bells were cast during peacetime. That's why a beautiful bell and the accompanying sound are also a sign of peace and security.
